She created her own style:
Paula Modersohn-Becker (1876-1907) advanced to an internationally renowned artist with a radically modern pictorial language. On occasion of the 100th anniversary of her death, the Kunsthalle Bremen is presenting more than 50 of her masterpieces in a fascinating exhibition.
It will centre on the late creative phase of her life. Paula Modersohn-Becker travelled to Paris four times; there she met Rodin and Maillol and discovered the works of important pioneers of modernity like Cézanne or Gauguin. These experiences deeply impressed Paula Modersohn-Becker and confirmed her modern understanding of art. She then increasingly used bright, flatly applied colours and achieved an expressive form language of great simplicity
