The Kunsthalle Bremen scored another remarkable success with its exhibition »Monet and Camille«. More than 230,000 visitors saw the "Portraits of Women in Impressionism". This means that the Kunsthalle far exceeded its original target number and achieved the second best results in the museum's history - 60,000 more visitors than those to the Blue Rider exhibition.
A wise combination of academic quality and effective staging attracted thousands of people from the region and the whole of Germany to the Kunsthalle. 80% of the visitors came from outside Bremen, and a third of them stayed overnight in the Hansa city.
The museum's educational service broke all records. More than 2,200 adult groups and 800 school classes took part in guided tours of the Kunsthalle. Every fifteen minutes, a new group set off to explore the exhibition under expert guidance. In addition, more than 50,000 visitors made use of an ARTMAN to enjoy an audio-tour. Overall, more than 22,500 school pupils saw the show, and many classes continued work on related themes either on the spot or back in the classroom.
